Deciding to have a family is a big leap. Many decisions are to be made such as: where to live, how many children you should have, and many others.

As you start and grow your family, you will realize just how much ‘storage’ will be important to you.

Let’s start from the beginning:

Moving in after Marriage

When you get married and start moving in with your partner, there will be lots of things to consider when you begin packing up.

First, just how big is your new home? Will it be spacious? Or did you get a smaller unit while you begin your family? Is it a new space or your partner’s pad?

You see, you would need to plan just how much stuff you can bring, and you have to consider how much things your spouse will put in your new home as well. Then there’s also the gifts.

Moving in requires compromise.

If it’s a new home, make sure that you and your partner share equal space. If your spouse is just moving in with you in your old pad, give him or her enough space for his or her stuff.

Whether you’re both going to a new place or one is just moving in, you would have to declutter to make room for each other’s stuff.

Again, this requires compromise, you may not want to get rid of some of your old junk, but if it’s no longer necessary to keep, or if it’s something your spouse doesn’t want around for a good reason, it’s time to chuck it out.

You can either sell stuff you won’t need online or hold a garage sale. But for things that are perhaps sentimental and you can’t absolutely let go, there are storage services available for you.

This means you won’t have to keep them at home, but you can access them anytime you want.

Then there’s having children…

Deciding to have a child is a big thing. And it’s the next milestone of your life and a relationship. It’s a big responsibility and it also entails giving up things. Material and non-material alike.

You would have to invest time and effort, and many other sacrifices need to be made. This also means decluttering again to make space for the new baby.

Babies need a lot of stuff such as: crib, stroller, cabinets, new clothes, and many other stuff as well to help the parents take better care of the baby such as baby cam, baby monitor, milk pumps, among others.

This is another time in your life when you have to look in to your closet, and all your other stuff and see which you can cut out from your home. Should there be things you feel you won’t need at the moment but you would still need sometime soon.

Or something you can let go from your house but would still need to use, valet storages also come useful for these kinds of situation.

And of course, since it is a big deal having a baby and there’s so much you need to do, you probably want to move your stuff with ease to free up more time for other more important things.

The good thing is, there are storage services which also offer to transport your stuff from your home to the warehouse. Meaning, you won’t even have to leave home to store the items you packed up.

And perhaps moving to a new home when the family gets bigger

When your child gets bigger and even perhaps when you have more than just one child, you might want to move in to a bigger space.

Or probably relocate to consider other factors such as school, the neighborhood, and others things that you may want for your children. Moving is yet another time to take another look at your stuff to see what you need to let go.

Even if you’re moving to a bigger space, there are still items you would need to let go because you probably won’t use them anymore. Especially the items for babies when your children might be bigger when you move.

Remember that as the kids grow up, you would most likely be piling up on other stuff again. It’s better to leave space ahead of time. But you probably won’t want to throw out or sell the items your babies once used.

Perhaps for sentimental reasons, or for the use of your future babies if you plan to have one again or to give out to relatives who are about to give birth. Storage services would help you out in this case.
