How to pack a mirror for moving
Things you'll need
- Bubble wrap
- A pair of scissors
- An extra pair of hands
- Corrugated board
- Penknife
- Masking tape
- Transparent tape
Steps to pack a mirror
- Find an elevated surface - like a table
- Lay bubble wrap on top of it
- Place mirror on top of your bubble wrap
- Roll the bubble wrap from end to end, leaving some slack at each end until the bubble has fully covered the whole mirror
- Cut off the excess bubble wrap
- Use masking tape and go around the each edge of the mirror
- Use masking tape and go around the shorter sides of the mirror
- Use short tape to secure the bubble wrap on the longer side of the mirror
- Place the mirror aside
- Lay the corrugated board on the table, making sure you have
excess on each end - Place the wrapped mirror on top this layer
- Use a penknife to score the corrugated board where you need to fold
- Fold in and tape up!
Tips during the move
- Invest in good packing materials
- Place the mirror upright against the wall of the truck
- Do not place anything on top of the mirror
- Stick a fragile sticker on the outside of the corrugated board
- Label an "X" on the glass side of the mirror
